HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield Terms and Conditions

  1. Application Policy

1.1 Eligibility

To apply for the HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
a) Must be at least 18 years old, and
b) possess a valid HomeTeamNS membership, and
c) The applicant must agree to this program’s terms & conditions.

 

1.2 Registered Vehicle & Members

Each HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership is limited to one vehicle (passenger car, motorcycle or Commercial vehicle) owned by the applicant. Commercial vehicles are not eligible for STA Inspections. (refer to 2.5)
Change of Vehicle (refer to 1.9)

 

1.3 Payment Policy

a) Payment for the HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield must be made via PayNow QR Code to SGDrivers Pte Ltd. Total amount payable is $23.00/year. Renewal notice dispatched within 60 days of due date.

b) All roadside assistance charges are to be paid directly to SGDrivers Pte Ltd regardless of job status.

1.4 Driver’s Shield Membership Validity, Expiry and Renewal

Driver’s Shield membership will last for one year (365 days) from either the date of approval or your HomeTeamNS membership expiry date, whichever comes first. Please note that renewals are required to maintain active membership benefits such as fuel discounts, roadside assistance, and STA discounts, simply renew your membership for $23.00 per year.
Please note that renewals require a valid HomeTeamNS membership.

During the first 2 month upon successful HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership, you have the opportunity to upgrade to the full SGDrivers Membership for a promotional price of $65.

 

1.5 Refund Policy

All payments made for Driver’s Shield Membership to SGDrivers Pte Ltd are eligible for a refund if the membership is found to be non-eligible. However, a processing charge of $0.50 will be applicable for all transactions. Alternatively, an SGDrivers insurance voucher worth $30 can be opted for by the applicant.

 

1.6 Expiry/ Cancellation/ termination policy

Expiry:
Driver’s Shield Membership Validity is 1 year (365 days) from the date of approval or the HomeTeamNS member’s expiry date, whichever comes first. No refund or reimbursement will be granted. All HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield benefits such as Fuel discounts, Roadside assistance, and STA discounts will be seized until a successful renewal/ purchase.
Cancellation:
DS Members need not formally request termination; the membership will continue to run its course and automatically ends after a failed renewal.
Termination:
Sgdrivers & HomeTeamNS reserve the right to terminate/ restrict or suspend any member that breaches the terms and conditions of this program.

 

1.7 Upgrade policy

a) Driver’s Shield to Sgdrivers Membership
 During the first two months of their Driver’s Shield membership period, Driver’s Shield members will have the opportunity to purchase a Sgdrivers membership at a discounted price of $65 from SGDrivers Pte Ltd. The Sgdrivers membership purchase will expire on the same day as the Driver’s Shield membership and does not include additional motoring vouchers. However, by adding the Sgdrivers membership to the Driver’s Shield membership, the applicant will be entitled to all the benefits of both memberships.

Note: Driver’s Shield members who wish to purchase Sgdrivers Membership two months after Driver’s Shield membership will pay the full retail price of $129.

Sgdrivers membership purchased at full retail price will receive the complete package/ vouchers and will be valid for 1 year (365 days) from the day of purchase.

b) Driver’s Shield to SGDrivers Insurance Customer
Driver’s Shield members with/without add-ons who have purchased insurance with SGDrivers Pte Ltd will receive a 1-time extension of their Driver’s Shield membership at no cost, regardless of the remaining period until their insurance policy expires. This will ensure that membership aligns with the insurance policy’s expiration date. Applicants will receive the full range of Sgdrivers membership benefits and privileges in addition to those offered by Driver’s Shield.

c) SGDrivers Insurance Customer to Driver’s Shield
Members of Sgdrivers who possess a valid HomeTeamNS membership are entitled to a Driver’s Shield membership at no additional cost. This will grant access to the complete range of Sgdrivers membership benefits and privileges, in addition to those offered by Driver’s Shield (Note that: Driver’s Shield Vouchers set will be excluded from this membership scheme). This Driver’s Shield membership add-on will expire on the same day as the Sgdrivers membership/ insurance policy.

1.8 Renewal Policy

To be eligible for renewal of Driver’s Shield membership, members must be valid HomeTeamNS members, no refund will be granted if the HomeTeamNS membership expires before Driver’s Shield membership. (Refer to clause 1.4)

To continue enjoying the Driver’s Shield membership benefits, a renewal amount of $23.00 per year is to be paid to SGDrivers Pte Ltd via sgdrivers.com.sg/htns-ds-renewal. Thereafter, members can add on Sgdrivers membership

1.9 Change of account information

All members must keep their account information up-to-date. Sgdrivers and partners are not responsible for failed transactions or updates due to inaccurate information.

To update personal information, members can send an email with the necessary attachment to drivers.shield@sgdrivers.com.sg

DS Members can change their vehicle details twice a year by providing proof of ownership or by holding a named driver title in the vehicle certificate of insurance.

2 Members Benefits

2.1 Vouchers

a) Each new or renewed Driver’s Shield member will receive a voucher and will be able to select an option from it. A member can select motoring vouchers up to $200 worth from the following set with a maximum of 1 of each.

*New Driver’s Shield members: Voucher selection is to be done via WhatsApp, text message or email.

Renewed Driver’s Shield members: Selection should be done via mobile. Inform the account managers of desired vouchers.


2.2 Tow service (Singapore)

    1. 24/7 Helpline: To request breakdown assistance, call the Sgdrivers 24/7 helpline at 61001933.
    2. Members’ Rates Apply: Please note that Driver’s Shield does not include free towing. All towing and recovery services will be charged at a discounted member rate.
    3. Exclusions: Towing services are not available for off-road vehicles or motorcycles..
    4. Inapplicable Scenarios: Towing is not covered for incidents related to motorsports, vehicle scrapping, sales, home transfers, or workshop transfers.
    5. Special Equipment Charges: Additional fees might apply if specialized towing equipment (e.g., King Dolly, Flatbed tow truck) is required.
    6. Miscellaneous Surcharges: Members are responsible for additional towing surcharges in certain locations like multi-storey car parks, sheltered areas, basements, Jurong Island, army camp car parks, and ERP zones.
    7. Safety: Sgdrivers and our towing partners will not interfere with other breakdown services like EMAS. Ensure your vehicle:
    • Do not obstruct traffic: Park your vehicle in a way that doesn’t block private or public roads.
    • Is not on an expressway: If you experience a breakdown on an expressway, contact EMAS for assistance. Failing to follow these guidelines could result in cancellation fees you’ll be responsible for.
    • Cancellation Fees: Be aware that any cancellation fees for towing services, both in Singapore and Malaysia, will be your responsibility.

2.3 Tow Service (Malaysia)

    1. Motorsports Exclusion: Please note that towing services are not covered for incidents related to motorsports.
    2. Cancellation Fees: Be aware that any cancellation fees for towing services, both in Singapore and Malaysia, will be your responsibility. A minimum fee of SGD50 will be charged if you cancel your towing request after confirmation.
    3. Additional Cancellation Fees: In some cases, additional cancellation fees may apply based on:
    • Dispatch Time: The time it takes to send a tow truck to your location.
    • Tow Truck Location: The distance the tow truck needs to travel back to its starting point after cancellation.

2.4 Tyre and Batter

Members who require Tyre or Battery rescue should activate the service through SGDrivers Pte Ltd to enjoy the member’s rate.

2.5 STA Inspection discounts

HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield members can enjoy a 10% discount on periodic inspections at STA inspection centers. Pleas note that:

  • Discount Eligibility: The discount applies only to vehicles registered under your HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership.
  • Claiming Your Discount: Present your digital HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield e-card at the time of payment at any STAI inspection center to redeem your discount.
  • Vehicle Types: This discount is valid for passenger cars and motorcycles only.
  • Combinations: The discount cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts, or privileges offered by STAI unless explicitly stated.
  • Inspection Type: The discount applies solely to periodic vehicle inspections and excludes other services like exhaust emission tests, private hire decal inspections, OPC seal checks, CNG inspections, etc.

      2.6 Partners 

      1. Independent Businesses: HomeTeamNS and SGDrivers Pte Ltd operate independently from our partner companies.
      2. Partner Products & Services: We are not responsible for any product damages or disputes arising from transactions between our members and our partners.
      3. Verification: To enjoy membership benefits and discounts at partner locations, please present your valid member card.
      4. Voucher Terms & Conditions: Before using a voucher, be sure to review and agree to the terms and conditions printed on the back of the voucher.

      2.7 Membership and Conduct

      1. Please treat all HomeTeamNS staff, Sgdrivers staff, and our partners with courtesy, respect and professionalism.
      2. All HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership applications & payments must be made directly to SGDrivers Pte Ltd.
      3. SGDrivers Pte Ltd reserves the right to terminate the membership due to misleading information and/or non-compliance with any membership requirement.
      4. HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield Member who wishes to depart from HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership must write in to effect the request. No fee reimbursement will be granted.
      5. Your HomeTeamNS Driver’s Shield membership application requires approval and is strictly non-transferable to other individuals..
      6. We rely on accurate information to provide the best service possible. Providing misleading information, omissions, or misrepresentations that violate laws or SGDrivers Pte Ltd Terms and Conditions may result in membership termination.
      7. SGDrivers Pte Ltd reserves the right to introduce and/or amend the T&Cs at any point in time.

      2.8 Fuel Discount

      1. Discounted Fuel: All Driver’s Shield members qualify for a fuel discount of up to 23%.
      2. To be entitled to the $20 fuel rebate, a member must meet the following criteria:
        a) Must not be an existing or past customer of GOGOX Energy. (New sign-up only)
        b) Not applicable for renewal cases, unless stated otherwise.
      3. Fuel Card process will take 4 – 8 weeks, depending on Payment Method. GIRO application will require physical signature.
      4. A 1.8% service fee applies to each credit/debit card transaction (based on the discounted price). There is a $10 penalty fee for any failed GIRO or credit card transaction.
      1. Modification
        SGDrivers Pte Ltd reserves the right to alter, extend or terminate the Program, or amend the terms and conditions at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice. In case of any disputes directly or indirectly arising from the Program, the decision of SGDrivers Pte Ltd shall be final.

      All Members shall agree to be bound by SGDrivers Pte Ltd Privacy Policy, & shall be amended from time to time. This policy outlines how SGDrivers Pte Ltd manage Member’s personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
